Executive Chef Michael Psilakis
Chef Michael Psilakis has accrued many of the food world’s highest honors for his tireless efforts to bring Greek cuisine to the national culinary stage. Psilakis first realized his talent in the kitchen while working front-of-house at a small Italian restaurant in Long Island. One life-changing day his chef and cook simply didn’t show up. With reservations pending, Psilakis stepped into the kitchen...and never left. One year later, with Psilakis cooking, the restaurant received a two-star rating from The New York Times.
In 2005, Psilakis introduced his unique Modern Greek cuisine at Onera restaurant in Manhattan. Following its critical success, Psilakis partnered with Donatella Arpaia, an established restaurateur and authority on entertaining, to open Anthos, Mia Dona and Kefi. After only four years in the Manhattan dining scene, Psilakis' achievements include the title of "Chef of the Year" by Bon Appetit (2008) and Esquire (2007) and being named a "Best New Chef" by Food & Wine magazine (2008). The pair was awarded a Michelin star for their modern Greek restaurant, Anthos (2007).
